Inside From Mommy To Me

The Story Behind This Mission

I launched From Mommy To Me because I understand the quiet struggle of cherishing your role as a parent while feeling your own identity slowly fade into the background.

I understand the weight of performance—staying resilient, keeping peace, and caring for everyone else—while you feel internally drained and disconnected from your own needs.

I recognize that many Black mothers share this journey. FMTM was born from a core conviction: we deserve space that is exclusively ours. Space to define ourselves apart from our families. Space to pursue personal desires. Space to rest without justification. Space to evolve and embrace change. Space to find our essence again and meet the women we are becoming. Space to be held without having to be the hero.

FMTM is a sacred space for you to finally release the things you’ve carried too long and begin to reimagine who you are when the world is still.

In this circle, we build a different kind of rhythm together—a soft place where you are allowed to become, without the pressure of who you’re supposed to be.

Meet Karae

A Black mother, social worker, and the woman behind FMTM, Karae knows what it’s like to love motherhood while still needing room for you.
She created The Cove so Black mothers could have that room—to reconnect, rediscover, and meet themselves wherever they are.

The Heart Behind This Space

I created this space because I know the heavy weight of being everything to everyone while feeling like absolutely nothing to yourself.

Sacred Sisterhood

I am here to walk beside you as you release the old weight, reimagine your light, and build a life where you are allowed to become.

Home for the Soul

This is our sanctuary to exhale. I promise to hold your story with grace as we navigate this sacred journey of finding our way back to the version of us that remains home to the soul.
